Sleepless Random Things

You'd think after 5 months of deployment a girl could get used to this sleeping by herself thing. But nope. Here I am bright eyed and bushy tailed at nearly 4am not one bit interested in that big cozy (cold and lonely) bed. My house is getting cleaned and there's a batch of granola baking in the oven to be sent to a certain sweetheart overseas who loves to snack on dry granola. (Did you know a person can get really creative when there are no mixing bowls in the house???)

Fact: The internet ......sure is quiiiet...... at this time of night. Or morning. Whatever you want to call it.

Here's a very few of my favorite moments I had the honor of capturing that are cluttering up my hard drive...

Do you use Adobe or another program for photo editing?

I use a couple, actually. Picasa and Gimp mostly.

Thanks for responding! I haven't heard of Gimp. I haven't had a chance to do much photo editing, but when I have time, I'll look into the programs you use. I just love the way you play around with color and the other techniques you use. Great pictures!

Hope you're enjoying settling into your own place. I'm sure it'll be amazing when Andy comes home to you and a home to share with you!

I don't think I've ever gotten used to sleeping by myself and we've been through 2 deployments, several TDYs, and many months of midshifts...(Maybe I shouldn't tell you that, since that's not very encouraging, lol!)

Cute pictures, though! You might consider setting aside some of your best shots and starting a little portfolio so that when you guys move around, you can run a small photography business from home or something. I definitely think you have a good eye for photography, and it would be a good way to help build up your savings and such :o)

My husband's been gone for over 4 months now and I can totally relate to the not-being-motivated-to-get-into-bed thing... (Hence it's 1am and I'm checking out your blog)

Hang in there! Even though it feels like it, we must remember that it won't be like this forever! :o)

Aww, what a sweet post. Sorry you're lonely and missing your man. I know how lonely my house way when my hubby was stuck at work for four days, and I later found out he was catching 15 minutes naps on the floor of his office. Guess a few days is nothing compared to those of you who have husbands in the military. Praise God He gives you the strength to endure their absence.

Keep cooking that granola!

Oh! Your collages - and photography - are beautiful. :) Can you give the secret to getting them all lined up and framed just so? I eek my collages out rather tediously in PS. =P
