Time Flies? I Wish.

Everybody's complaining about how fast the summer is flying by. I guess that typically is the complaint of summer... But this year it's not so with me. Summer couldn't possibly drag by any slower.

This afternoon I was dwelling in a quiet moment of relief that so much time has passed since Andy's departure, and feeling like it won't be long now! Heh. Then I counted. Today marks 3 months since we have seen each other. Only 3 months, mind you. That's only 91 days. We haven't even reached the 100's marker! Ugh. Not even half way there yet. This summer is feeling like eternity. Never in my life have I looked forward to winter... Until this year. I'm aching for the freezing cold I've always despised.... Because with it comes Andy.

That's it for complaints for now. I will just give you a glimpse of what the last 2 or 3 weeks have looked like for me... When I'm not glued to the conversation I'm having with my hubby on my phone.

(I love technology these days... Really, I do.)

4th of July parade

in case you were wondering

Best of all.... My brother Gabe came home for his 2 weeks of R&R.
This is what a soldier on R&R looks like.

All of us siblings together... doesn't happen so often anymore. The joys of growing up.

Moving into my new apartment! Yes... Andy and I have a real home now.

Before Gabe left, I got to take pictures of him and Anna. Cutest couple ever, with the exception of Andy and I of course.

I've been praying for you, Brittleigh! I know this time is difficult for both you and Andy! I simply can't imagine how desperately you must want Andy home.
Thank-you a million times for your sacrifice for our country!! The women left at home deserve our thanks just as much as the men who go and fight!!
Love and Prayers,

Very cute pics Britt!!! I'll be praying for you and Andy! I hope that the time starts to fly more quickly! You should come down and visit me! Then maybe time will seem to fly faster. ;) Seriously though, you're welcome anytime to come visit. Love ya! <3 (((hugs)))

So sweet. I am praying also that winter comes quickly to you! That Andy comes home safe and sound - and that this time away from him will soon be a distant memory!
Happy that you have your own home, what sweet firsts.

Hey Brittney,
Just wanted to leave you with some encouragement. I found your site through the rebelution, just so you're not creeped out. :) It has been ten months since I've seen the man I have fallen in love with. We've known each other since junior high - acquaintances became friends, and friends became something inifinitely more dear (to quote Mr. knightely). We're not engaged (yet), but we've been praying about what God has for us and about the distance. I'll hopefully get to see him in a few months...yay! I just wanted to encourage you with this: some, ok...most, days feel really long without the man you love by your side. Each day, week, month, has felt so long I didn't think it possible. But now I look back and it seems just yesterday that I saw him and he wrapped his arms around me...i know these next few months will seem even longer than the last, but God is gracious and His mercies are new every morning. Before you know it Andy will come home, and every day you will discover something new that you missed the day before. And no, I'm not kidding. I've known Chris for years and every time we're together I notice something new. This time apart will create a foundation that you both can stand on for the rest of your lives: a foundation that has been battered and tested with time and distance, and yet it still stands. I will be praying for you both! Stay close to God and He will help you get through this!

Yeah...I've never been excited to see Halloween decor coming out, but I am this year! Because that means October is coming! Whoohoo! My husband will be here before Halloween will be! :o)
